“Feeling at peace, however fragilely, made it easy to slip into the visionary end of the dark-sight. The rose shadows said that they loved the sun, but that they also loved the dark, where their roots grew through the lightless mystery of the earth. The roses said: You do not have to choose. ”

Crazy Stuff
A phone pouch and two eyeglass cases are my latest crazy quilted creations.
Wishing you all a beautiful day,
The fun thing about crazy quilting (well, ONE of the fun things) is that even though I always have a plan when I get started with a certain piece, the finished result is always a surprise.
Usually a nice one :)

Mirror Mirror On The Wall
... I mean in the pocket. Or purse, if you prefer.
I would much rather have it on my dresser if I were to keep it, but I am not. So, wrapped in silk paper, into a pretty box it goes...
Still, I am not tying the ribbons on the box just yet as I like it so much, I want to be able to look at it again before it flies away :)
Hugs,
Although, to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't put this one neither in my pocket nor in my purse.

Eyeglass Case
Spring is back, hurray!, and they say that this time it's here to stay until summer takes over.
Wishing you all a wonderful day,
Enjoying the sunshine, with the windows of my studio wide open, I finished Marta's eyeglass case today.
I loved working with purples for a change, after all the blue of the previous pouch set and before the next eyeglass case, which will also be blue.

Blue Set Finished
Although the sun was not as generous today as it was yesterday, and the coming and going of clouds and rain brought on the usual headache, I am happy to report that the eyeglass case that completes the set of three blues is finished.
To celebrate (and also because another eyeglass case I am working on needed some blocking before I could sew it up) I treated myself to stitching on a pocket mirror.
Thank you for visiting!
Wishing you all the best,
To celebrate (and also because another eyeglass case I am working on needed some blocking before I could sew it up) I treated myself to stitching on a pocket mirror.
I have had these mirrors for a few months now, but never got the chance or the mood to finish one.
And today was the day we were ready for each other.
Although it cannot be seen in the photos, the silk dupioni is actually very light pink. I have a strong feeling that I'll be making more of these...
Thank you for visiting!

Blue Set
I am not sure how the sun felt about seeing my face today, but I sure was happy to see the sun shine again. Even my needles worked faster, so I managed to finish two pouches of the blu set.
The change purse:
And the phone pouch:
The eyeglass case is all embellished, too, just needs to be sewn up. But that's tomorrow's story...

Brazil Patchwork Show
I am happy to announce that, thanks to the kind assistance of my dear friend Lee Albrecht, some of my silk ribbon embroidery pendants, along with many other gorgeous finished embroideries and embroidery kits with Lee's beautiful designs, will be available for purchase at the 7th Brazil Patchwork Show, at Shoping Frei Caneca in São Paulo, April 08 - 11.
Wish I could attend, too :) Maybe sometime in the future...
Until then, let's wish Lee and her embroidery school great success and a wonderful time at the fair!

Stitching Together
"I want to stitch, too" she said, "SOMETHING, not just lines".
"How about a flower?" I asked.
"A tulip, a tulip!!!"and she jumped up and down around me as I cut her some cotton fabric and drew a tulip on it for her. "I want a frame, too, like yours! And I want the tulip to be purple." So we put her fabric into a hoop, picked just the right colors of cotton perle no.8 and then she sat on my lap to learn how to backstitch...
And then she moved to her own chair to work by herself and we sat and stitched together in silence, until...

"Mom, stop taking pictures, you have lots of stitching to do!"
:))))))))))))))))))))))
And she was right, too. My current work in progress: a blue set of three, phone pouch, eyeglass case and change purse.
