Myosotis...

or Forget-me-not, as most of us know this sweet little flower.

"Nefelejcs" in Hunagrian, "floare de nu mă uita" in Romanian, all with the same meaning:
forget me not.

To me they bring back wonderful childhood memories, happy summer vacations spent at my grandparents' mountain cottage in Szekler Land. We used to bring the water up to the cottage, in buckets, from a spring nearby, surrounded by the largest, bluest, most beautiful Forget-me-nots I have ever seen...

Of course, we usually spilled at least half of the water on our way back up, but who cared, we were always up for another trip to the spring, running and laughing and singing our hearts out...

Those were the times... :)

Would you like to share any childhood memories that inspired Your creations? I would love reading about them, so don't be shy, just leave a comment bellow!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

Amikor én kislány voltam... / When I was just a little girl...

12-13 éves voltam, amikor kézimunkaórán abroszt és szalvétákat hímeztünk. Rengeteg mintát hozott a tanárnőnk, amikből szabadon válogathattunk.

I was about 12 or 13 when, for handicraft class, we had to embroider a table cloth with four napkins. Our teacher brought us quite a lot of patterns to chose from. I immediately fell in love with these pansy baskets. I chose the fabric and threads with my mother's help, and in order to finish the project in due time, she and my grandmother helped a bit with the embroidering too :) There are in total 8 baskets of pansies, all of them in different colours...

Ha kedvetek tartja, kapjátok ti is elő a gyermekkori munkáitokat, nosztalgiázzunk együtt!

If you'd like, show us the works you made as children, join me down memory lane!

Csak egy fénykép / Just a photograph

1940 körül készült, Gyergyóújfaluban, a fehér ruhás kislány bérmálkozásán. A kislány jobb oldalán anyai nagymamám, Gizella. Nekünk Gizi Mama :)
Taken around 1940, in the szekler village Gyergyóújfalu, at the Confirmation of the girl dressed in white. On the girl's right, my grandmother from my mother's side, Gizella.
