I hope that one day it will fulfill its function and bring all the best in the world to a happy couple :)

The Three Beauties / A három grácia

I am happy to present the finished version of my three gorgeous pillows designed by Lee Albrecht.
Sikerült végre végleges formájába ölteni a három gyönyörű, Lee Albrecht által tervezett párnámat.

I will part with them for a few weeks, but then they will be back home, so I can smile every time I look at them :)

Egy pár hétre megválok tőlük, de aztán megint itthon lesznek és mosolyoghatok akárhányszor rájuk nézek :)

Business Card Holder / Névjegykártya tartó

Made (mostly) from the scraps that remained after making my phone pouch.

A telefontokom készítése után megmaradt anyagdarabkákból varrtam (többnyire).

The inspiration came from Kathy's (Shawkl) post of her needlepoint business card holder, where she also linked the detailed and easy to follow tutorial posted at The Crafty Cupboard. Thank you ladies!
Az ötletet Kathy-nél (Shawkl) találtam, aki a post-jában linkelte The Crafty Cupboard részletes és könnyen követhető tutoriálját is. Köszönöm, hölgyeim!

I couldn't help but notice that my sewing machine cannot stitch in a straight line... Or is it me? :D

Feltűnt, hogy a varrógépem nem tud egyenesen varrni... Vagy aki használja... :D

Again, with a flower fairy. This time I chose the cornflower one.
Megint virágtündérrel, ezúttal a búzavirágtündért választottam.

I think I just might keep this one for myself. For my phone, that is :)

I finished the seam treatments on my ring bearer's pillow and again I am amazed by how starting from a few basic stitches and combining them, the possibilities are endless. This is so refreshing and it feels like an adventure every single time.

It was a little bit of a challenge to take a good picture - the lights and the shiny fabrics kept playing together and teasing me by showing wrinkles that are not really there - but you can get the idea.

The rings are going to be placed on the upper patch of the heart, while the other patch, in cream satin, will be embellished with a garland of silk ribbon roses. I already have the design sketched on paper and the ribbons and flosses lined up for tomorrow.

I still need to decide if I should further embellish the patches... Any advice or criticism would be much appreciated.

With every crazy quilted piece I make, I learn something new. Whether it is about embroidery, whether about myself, I find all the lessons valuable. This time, I realized that while with geometrical forms I do my best and try everything to keep my stitches even, I tend to rebel against evenness with organic shapes.

Tinbox topped / Fémdoboz tetőzve

After too much time spent on trying to find just the perfect trim to finish up this little box, I went back to my first choice:
Addig keresgéltem a tökéletes paszományt, hogy befejezzem ezt a kis doboztetőt, hogy végül mégis csak az került sorra amit legelőször kiválasztottam hozzá:

For the time being it is fulfilling the honourable duty of keeping my first needle tatted pieces - I just had to see how these little butterflies are made :)

Egyelőre azt a megtisztelő feladatot kapta, hogy vigyázzon az első frivolité pillangóimra - muszáj volt kipróbálnom, hogyan is készülnek :)

Crazy Quilted Ring Bearer's Pillow in Progress

Still looking for the perfect trim to finish my tin box topper, I started another work. This ring bearer's pillow is going to travel very far, across the ocean and hopefully it will take me along for the journey.
Még nem jött szembe velem a tökéletes csipke amivel befejezhetném a kis doboztetőt, úgyhogy új munkába kezdtem. Ez a gyűrűpárna az óceánon túlra for utazni és reményeim szerint a bőröndömben. 

I still have a couple of moths ahead to embellish and finish it, but time is flying so fast, I thought an early start wouldn't hurt.

Még rendelkezésemre áll pár hónap, hogy kihímezzem és összeállítsam, de ahogy rohan az idő, gondoltam, nem árthat ha elkezdem öltögetni.

If I had a rose garden... / Ha énnékem rózsakertem volna...

It was with this thought or wish in mind that I put together this 8" block for my very first Round Robin: Fabulous First Timers' no.17 with four talented ladies from the Crazy Quilting International Yahoo group.
Hasonló gondolatokkal (álmokkal) a fejemben állítottam össze ezt a 8"-es blokkot a legeslegelső RR-emhez.

I will send the block off as it is and in a few months' time it will come back to me embellished. I can't wait to see what it says to the ladies in our little rr group.

Így, üresen küldöm el és pár hónap múlva kihímezve - feldíszítve kapom majd vissza. Alig várom, hogy láthassam, mit kezdenek vele a kedves rr társaim.

But before I can see that, I will be busy doing my best to work on their blocks. And making a new pouch for my new phone. And finishing the box topper. And... you know, having loads of fun!
És közben alig várom, hogy dolgozhassak a társaim blokkjain. És hogy megvarrjam az új telefonom tokját. És hogy befejezzem a doboztetőt. És... és...

Playing with fabric scraps

Reading Pam Kellog's blog, I have learned about using waste canvas for seam treatments in order to get even stitches and thought I might try that, too. Except there was not even a trace of waste canvas in my stash...
Pam Kellog blogjában olvastam, hogy segédvásznat használ, hogy egyenletes, leszámolható öltéskombinációkat alkalmazzon a crazy quilt munkáin. Megtetszett az ötlet, gondoltam ki is próbálom, de messze nem volt egy szál segédvásznam se...

I am so glad I have kept even the smallest bits of cross stitch fabrics! They did just fine instead of waste canvas on simple seam treatments.
Annyira örülök, hogy még a legaprócskább hímzővászondarabkákat is gondosan megőriztem! Ügyesen helyettesítették a segédvásznat az egyszerűbb öltéseknél.

I sketched (not that I can draw...) and planned and counted...
Rajzoltam (nem mintha tudnék) és számoltam...

I pinned and stitched and pulled out threads ... and indeed, the stitches were as even as they could ever be: 

Gombostűztem, öltöttem, szálakat húzgáltam ki ... és tényleg, sokkal egyenletesebbek lettek az öltések:

I only stitched the basic stitches using the "helping" fabric, I embellished them further after removing it.

Az alapöltéseket a "segédvászon" eltávolítása után díszítettem tovább.
